De Peloponnesus is een Grieks schiereiland dat met het vasteland verbonden is door de Landengte van Korinthe, in de Egeïsche Zee.
De belangrijkste havensteden zijn Patras en Calamata. Korinthe is een verplicht bezoek. Daar zult u de tempel van Apollo en de agora ontdekken. Op de top van de heuvel Akrokorinthe ligt een restaurant met een indrukwekkend uitzicht.
De oude stadskern van Nauplia vertoont resten uit de tijd van de overheersing door Venetië. U kunt een bezoek brengen aan het fort Palamedes en aan de vesting Acronauplia.
Bezoek ook de vestingen van de Akropolis van Mycene en de archeologische resten met het graf van Agamemnon, en de kazematten van Tiryns.
Hoog op de berg Taigetos ligt Mistra, een ommuurde stad die werelderfgoed is. Vlakbij Ligurië ligt het theater van Epidauros.
De beste stranden vindt u aan de westkust. Naar het zuiden toe vindt u prachtige grotten, zoals de Grot van Diros. Op het schiereiland Mani ligt Sparta, een ideale plek om te wandelen. U kunt ook met de boot naar het eiland Hidra; van de stranden genieten; of het schilderachtige dorp ontdekken. Dit is ook een uitstekende plek om watersporten te doen, zoals waterski, zeilen, windsurfen en duiken. Het hotelaanbod is zeer gevarieerd en de gastronomie uitstekend.
