De Saronische Eilanden zijn Griekse eilanden ten zuidwesten van Piraeus. De hoofdstad en de voornaamste haven is Egina, gelegen op het gelijknamige eiland. De andere eilanden in de Saronische Golf (ook bekend als Golf van Egina) zijn: Hydra, Poros en Spetses.
Egina ligt tegenover de kust van Athene. U kunt er de tempel van Aphaia bezoeken, de best behouden van Griekenland, en die van Sint Nectarios. Egina is vermaard om de pistachenoten en om het aardewerk.
Poros is het kleinste eiland, vol citroenplantages en dichte pijnboombossen. De ruïnes van de tempel van Poseidon liggen in het centrum van dit mooie eiland.
Hydra is een van de meest schilderachtige eilanden in de Saronische Golf, zeer modern, met heel veel commerciële straten, restaurants en kroegen, waar u de uitstekende lokale Griekse specialiteiten kunt proeven. Het typische landschap bestaat uit stenen huizen met smalle straatjes waar het autoverkeer verboden is.
In Spetses vindt u paradijselijke stranden zoals Aghia Paraskevi, omgeven door pijnboombossen, of de heel bekende Aghios Mammas en Aghia Marina. U kunt ook de kerk van Sint Nicolaas bezoeken, het neoklassieke raadhuis, het Museum Bouboulina en de spectaculaire villa’s uit de 18e eeuw. En een heel goede optie is natuurlijk een lekker kopje koffie drinken aan het plein Dapia.
