Very good. The staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. The accommodation comfortable and pleasant.

The accommodation was clean, but during our stay was minimal, therefore a broom, dustpan and brush would have been useful.

The hotel has beautifully kept gardens, pool area and bar.

We stayed in a studio here last year but thought we would spend the extra and get a one bed apartment this time around so as to get 'real' beds but guess what? Yes, we had a separate bedroom but the 'beds' were still matresses on concrete slabs! The bathroom had seen much better days with corroded fittings which meant the sink and bath dripped constantly and the toilet smelt none too fresh as a result. The kitchen was just as basic as that in the studio apartment. We knew the accomodation was fairly basic being rustic in style and had previously found this to be part of the charm of the place however, this year the standards of hygiene seem to have slipped somewhat and we did not consider the apartment good value for money. The little train which used to run down to where you get the boat to the beach was not running and no notice was provided at reception to alert guests that there were two consecutive days which were public holidays when there would be no public train or bus service or indeed maid service.

After a few minutes walk to the waterfront, the beautiful Cabanas beach can be reached by the regular boat service. Some of the shops and restaurants were not yet open for the season but there was still a reasonable choice. The local bus service to Tavira stops just across the road from the Reception and a 10 minute walk gets you to the train station which allows you to access the towns further afield. If you have a car it is worth exploring the small villages and towns in the vicinity as some real gems can be found and some wonderful beaches and beauty spots.

This is a untypical holiday town in that it is still fairly portuguese and it has good restaurants and boating area but no beach as such as it fronts the river not the sea.

Very enjoyable trip, with suprisingly nice weather for March. Families with small children looking to get a bit of peace and quiet will really enjoy this one, however couples and people wanting a bit more to do may want to visit this location in the busier summer months to get anything out of it. I do recommend giving this place a visit as I found it to be just lovely.

Very friendly and helpful staff that all had good English helped to make this trip a good one. Very peacful location and good facilities in the complex such as pool, volleyball and football area, tennis courts and sun terrace etc. Also large resteraunt and bar beside the pool to unwind in the evening.

Rooms were nice however a bit small and seemed very dark at certain times. Also the standard of cleanliness could have been a bit higher. However as with most self-catering places, we didn't spend much time there so it is not a major complaint by any means. Resort is also in the small town of Cabanas and not in Tavira as I had thought so the resort is very quiet with not a whole lot to do outside the complex. However the bus to Tavira will cost around ?1.90 pp and there is loads to see and do there.

There are a few nice shops and resteraunts and some lovely nature walks to do nearby. In the summer months boats can take you to the huge beach just a minute or so away which we couldn't visit because we went in March and noone was heading over that way. That is about it in Cabanas. For those who want a bit more excitement, head over to Tavira which has a lot more to see such as the Roman Bridge, Castle and beautiful waterfall etc.

It was our second stay at this lovely complex and was just as enjoyable as the first. It has loads of facilities to suit everones needs. The staff are friendly and exceptionally helpful. It has a nice relaxed friendly atmosphere and I would recommend this hotel to suit anyone who stays there. We shall certainly stay there again in the near future.
