Het eiland Lombok ligt in de Indonesische provincie Nusa Tenggara Barat, niet ver van het eiland Bali.
Lombok is internationaal vermaard dankzij de ongerepte stranden, met kristalhelder water, wit zand en kokospalmen.
Op het hele eiland zijn vele hindoetempels te bezichtigen, in Balinese stijl, evenals vele andere bouwwerken. De inwoners worden Sasak genoemd.
Aanraders zijn: de stranden Kuta Kute, ideaal voor naturisten, en Senggigi, met mooie baaien waar u witte zandstranden en kristalhelder water zult vinden, aan de voet van indrukwekkende kliffen.
Ook de eilanden 'Gilí', op 30 minuten per boot van Lombok, zijn zeer de moeite waard. Hier vindt u stranden met koraalriffen en prachtig blauw water, ideaal om te duiken. Deze drie eilanden zijn Gilí Trawangan, Gilí Air en Gilí Meno.
Ook kunt u genieten van de fantastische watervallen Sendang Gila en Tiu Kelep, midden in een dicht begroeid gebied waar u ook prachtige, kleine kristalheldere lagunes zult vinden.
