Leon is a city in the Mexican state of Guanajuato.
It is known as the Shoe Capital due to the many factories that produce footwear here. Leon is surrounded by a mountainous landscape which features the Comanja and Ibarra ranges. The city boasts a large number of monuments, including the Arco de la Calzada, the Casa de las Monas and the los Fundadores square.
